Unlike many here, I believe polls. I know they are not predictive, especially this far out from election day. However, I do believe you can assess a trend. This linked Reuters Poll was conducted entirely after Biden dropped out, therefore was no longer a hypothetical matchup. Also, the numbers appear to allow Harris to grow if we can seize the opportunity to define her favorably to the important 10% to 15% of the undecided. After all, that 10% to 15% already knows Trump and aren't with him. I believe a younger, more sensible and energetic candidate can win them over.

(5,937 posts)but it's nice to see a bounce in our favor for a change. It's especially nice that Biden's timing pulled the rug out from under any bounce that trump may have gotten from his convention. It's entirely possible that trump's campaign has already peaked.

(5,568 posts)the top of the ticket could/would go this smoothly if it happened. Thought it would be fraught, disruptive, and Chicago could be anxious vs energizing.

(7,934 posts)We will also get a bump for the convention. The VP vetting process will keep all eyes focused on us.
Whats most important is that weve energized our voters. We have a machine like no other when were fired up!

(2,460 posts)They had been very negative about Biden, but were quite excited about Harris. I think that's going to make a HUGE difference.
