Secret Service officials encouraged Donald Trump’s campaign to stop scheduling large outdoor rallies and other outdoor events with big crowds after the assassination attempt on the former president in Butler, Pa., according to people familiar with the matter.

In the aftermath of the shooting, agents from the Secret Service communicated their concerns about large outdoor rallies going forward to Trump campaign advisers, three people familiar with the matter said.

The people familiar with the matter spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private discussions.

For upcoming events, Trump’s team is scouting indoor venues, such as basketball arenas and other large spaces where thousands of people can fit, people familiar with the request said. The campaign is not currently planning any large outdoor events, a person close to Trump said.

Sorry, but why have Trump and Republicans been ramping up the violent rhetoric that has created such a divisive and volatile political atmosphere since 2016?

Why was the secret service slow to get Trump off the stage? Pft.

Like secret service agents don't have families they want to go home to too?

When you talk like Trump, you are not only endangering your supporters but the people assigned to protect you.

If you want to hold other people at fault for not protecting you, at least have the decency to make sure your rallies are not Petri dishes designed to ramp up political anger in people.

Certain MAGAS immediately blamed the flub on her, calling her a 'DEI hire' - the term the bigots use for ANYONE not a white male, as a way of calling them unqualified,

but fact is, they saw the shooter well in advance (one article I've read suggest he was being 'monitored' days before) yet they didn't consider him a threat until way too late.
