At the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C., on Friday, December 1, members of the Education Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council got an earful when education activist Sabrina Joy Stevens infiltrated their closed-door meeting to confront the ALEC members on their own turf.

(53,661 posts)But she was absolutely right, they have no legal authority to make the policies that affect tax payers who are not part of the organization, whose homeowner taxes pay for all of this, and are not represented there.
That a religious group which pays no taxes, is being represented, and the corporations, which likely pay none but are taking tax dollars is a usurpation of power from the democratically elected government.
This is what I keep telling people they must do, get into these things on a local and state level, or the rug will be pulled out from under us all. They intend, as we see in the case where the superintendnet of the school district in Michigan sent out a plea for parents and community to get involved, they have no intention of serving the people equally, They intend to shut down the public's right to a free education and create groups of people in this country who will not be educated at all.
We can't sit back and think that things will go as they always have because we got these opportunities growing up. These people are in action now, to steal everything, every single day.
