JD Vance's Comments About Diet Mountain Dew And Racism Are Going Viral, And Now It's A Meme

Former president Donald Trump's running mate, JD Vance, gave a speech in Ohio yesterday, and one part of that speech is going viral where he talks about Democrats, racism, and Diet Mountain Dew.

"It is the weirdest thing to me Democrats say that it is racist to believe, well they say it's racist to do anything," he says. "I had a Diet Mountain Dew yesterday, and one today, and I'm sure they're gonna call that racist too. It's good. I love you guys."

5. It's a really tone-deaf thing to say for a guy who purports to be from Appalachia

People there drink a LOT of Mountain Dew - so much that tooth decay is endemic among the heavy drinkers of it. The dental damage from it has been labeled "Mountain Dew Mouth". Later, when meth became prevalent, there were discussions about how to distinguish "meth mouth" from it.

Part of it is due to well water too polluted to drink.
