"These are weird people" - Gov Tim Walz just now on Alex Wagner

Catch the whole interview on the rerun if you missed it now.

I'd really hate to lose him as our governor.

Realistically I think it will be Shapiro or Kelly - Minnesota isn't a swing state and Walz doesn't have national name recognition (though he seems to be getting some).

My personal choice is Pete Buttigieg. Way smart and QUICK on the draw. And he's nobody's governor!

He has never win statewide office nor had to meet the demands of those positions. While he has had a cabinet position, that’s where he fits best. A cabinet post.

I STRONGLY feel he isn't qualified. Like the guy and his smart as a whip but as VP? Hard pass.

I know liberals are supposed to "protect weirdness," so calling something weird is supposed to be verboten, but it's about time somebody from our side just got on camera and acknowledged that this MAGA shit is weird and these people, the real hardcores, are fucking weird. Who wants to have a beer with a weirdo red hat? Seriously!

They are awful people, of course; but they are awful in a uniquely weird way. Trump wears orange makeup and does something strange with his urine-colored hair. He lusts after his daughter and talks about sharks and electric boats and thinks stealth airplanes are actually invisible. Vance apparently wears eyeliner (guyliner?), and a scraggly beard to hide his chubby cheeks, and rants about how cat ladies are destroying America. In the old days Republicans were awful but in a buttoned-down, conventional way, but these guys are straight out of a Fellini movie.

Additionally a HS teacher and football coach.

MN has been the picture of liberal success under his leadership with a dem house and senate.

Tim is wonderful.

When I met him over 19 years ago, he was a tad shy and not so confident as an orator on a wider scale. Before the Election in 2006, Tim had matured as a candidate and campaigner.

Whether he gets the call, he will not be disappointed if he is not picked. He has several jobs to do as it is.
