TSF in his recent joint interview with Vance being conducted by Jesse Watters, said the quite part out loud on live TV and it's absolutely not getting the attention it deserves. Thankfully VP Harris's staff and their quick response team at the KamalaHQ are talking about it and showing the video for everyone to see. In the video Trump references the Eisenhower program from 1953-54 called Operation Wetback (I feel awful saying that word but it has to be talked about) and how no one had a problem with it back then. Implying he is modeling his plan after that program.
Apparently Trump only read the cliff notes version of that program.
It was a complete shit show and A LOT of people had a problem with it. It barely lasted a year because it did little to stop undocumented immigration and worse violated the civil rights of a bunch of US citizens who were unlawfully detained.
Yes, Trump is a idiot. A racist. A xenophobic hatemongering asshat.
More importantly he is a very dangerous idiot. We cannot let this psychopath anywhere near the WH.

Like most things that Trump promises, he has no plan for how it would actually work.

(10,858 posts)He will just leave them in the concentration camps he plans to set up to hold them while they await deportation.
I'm sure there would be lawsuits and so forth but the most interesting thing about being dictator is you don't have to answer to anyone. I believe he would just ignore the courts. If he controls the DOJ like he wants, he will not answer to anyone.

(28,835 posts)Obviously, we have to proceed with the assumption that he would find a way to do it, but I think there's a very good chance that it just fizzles out like the wall did. If that happens, plan on a bunch of token efforts and photo ops so he can brag that he did something.
His big money supporters would probably balk at spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a boondoggle with no chance of success, when he could just give it to them in a tax cut.

(4,823 posts)There are enough people that would want the jobs of:
1. Building the Camps.
2. Supplying the Camps.
3. The infrastructure for the camps.
4. The people that would be administrators for the camp at both
A local level and a Federal and State level.
5. The actual prison/camp staff that would offer containment.
6. The Investigative staff that would monitor abuses.
7. And the sickos that would buy into this
8. The surrounding towns that would benefit from the employment and
People spending their incomes in their town.
Morality - right/wrong - against money, Id bet on money.
Then maybe one day, like Trump Voters - when they look back and history is judging them, they might feel remorse/guilt and shame.
A the rest of us - we have to look in the mirror, like when they put kids in cages and ask, what can we do
. Most of us and I am including myself is nothing. Maybe write our congress person, but nothing.
