The fiscal cliff... obervations of a passerby...
I'm sort of a busy guy, got my shoulder into work and ain't got the time or the patient's to give too much of a shit about most of the nonsense that goes for news. I thiink I have a vague idea that it has something to do with keeping the Bush Tax cuts for everybody but the super rich. The Right is calling foul and saying that the rich are once again being singled out and persecuted. That's my take on it but who gives a shit...
Seems to me, there might be a bigger problem that most people aren't aware of...there's a whole lot of people who don't fret over tax day. In fact, most poor folk I know, with kids mind you, look forward to tax day. With the EIC and deductions, a lot of people get a huge sum back at the year, more than what they put into it. If these cuts aren't extended, millions of familiies are going to feel a terrible pinch in a bout a year and few months from now. I'm probably going to be okay, I've got deductions out the ass and a cross eyed accountant so I'll get by....
I know it shouldn't but I have to say that it still amazes me how comfortable the wealthy seem to be, grinding the poor into the ground. I just find it odd that so many of the one's who will be affected the most will have voted for the people who are choking the life out of them... Kentucky, Tennesee, Mississippi barely stay afloat as it is... with out that redistribution of tax money from the wealthy states they don't stand a chance, thier schools, thier govermental agencies and thier economies rely on this money every year and yet they vote Republican like their in a cult. Crazy... anyway, good luck with the cliff thing, I've got a bunch of shit to do so I can't help all that much. Just thought I'd share my thoughts on the subject.
