Anonymous target revenge porn site owner Hunter Moore

The former owner of a "revenge porn" website has been threatened by hacktivist collective Anonymous.

Hunter Moore used to post sexual images of men and women without their permission, along with links to their social networking profiles.

Mr Moore said he will launch a new site soon, telling one technology blog he would also post home addresses.

...
"If you're just crying over some [picture] you sent to some boy you just met, no I'm not going to take it down, and no I don't really care."
...

Regardless of his intentions, Anonymous published details about Mr Moore online, including the names of family members and his home address.

The group posted a video about their actions to Vimeo. In it, they showed pictures of Amanda Todd - a girl who committed suicide after topless photographs of her were circulated on the internet.

Prior to her death, 15-year-old Miss Todd created a YouTube video describing how she was bullied.

Mr Moore, who has said his new site has had thousands of submissions, has in the past said he holds no guilt over what he does.

"It's anonymous to me. I don't know the people - it's just a little picture on a screen," he told the BBC in an interview in April.

"If you're just crying over some [picture] you sent to some boy you just met, no I'm not going to take it down, and no I don't really care."

Let 'em at him.

What if those pictures were taken without the person's knowledge? Or out of context? Then the whack jobs browsing his site have links to their social networking -- information and access to children, friends, family, co-workers. It sounds very dangerous to me. You could be ruining or even endangering someone's life.

People's consensual sex lives are their own business.

I think posting the info about members of his family and opening them up to harm even if they had no participation or clue is asking for trouble. Granted I know that he did basically the same thing hence part of the reason we are disgusted by it so I don't think a group of people who sometimes affiliate themselves with things we applaud doing it makes it right

And making enough money to be untouchable. The News of the World scandal didn't net Murdoch anything more than a slap on the risk.

However, the sleazy Michelle Malkin did have some repercussion over what she did to harm others, causing death threats. It wasn't by the law though. And as you mentioned to me below in reply #18, this guy might get himself shot:

Michelle Malkin posts phone #'s of lib college students

Malkin forced to move after personal details published

As he says he doesn't care what harm he did, judging the morals of the people he used for money, it might be his destiny. That another provider is going to host another website where he takes the same tack or worse, is disgusting. It's all about the money for this guy and them. A very destructive individual.

He's not being punished by having his information put out for anyone and not being stopped from operating online. He can afford security, and it appears he has some behind him in the photograph. Too bad the law is letting him get away with it, starting up new websites and making more money. And the crowd on the internet love what he's doing. This is advertising his new venture.
