It is clearly impossible to negotiate in public, so its ridiculous to spend all this time on 'what's going on,' 'they're gonna take this away,' 'they're not gonna do that.'

both sides just want to present the base with their opening offers so they can say they started from a position of strength.

They'll work out something in private and then Boner and his buddy Cantor are going to have to figure out a way to either wrangle his asshole brigade of tea baggers to vote for it or go beggin' to the Democrats. Either scenario will probably make for some good TV watching.
