I do not think Trump will dump Vance. It would be too much for his sick mega-ego to handle.

Trump is a pathological narcissist who believes he can not ever be wrong.

To admit he made a huge error in his VP pick, which is a huge decision, would be too much of a blow to his ego.

The only way I can see it happening is if surrogates convince Vance to drop out "on his own accord and of complete and total surprise to Trump while Trump insisted that he stay". They may try to concoct something like that. But Trump will NEVER admit he was wrong.

Putin uses that tactic when he wants a given political party official out of the way.

Vance will be forced out, but they will make a big show of it and he'll copy some of the language Biden did when he dropped out. Republicans are still steaming that Biden did what he did so gracefully and is viewed as a patriot for it.

as much evidence there is to the contrary.

He will do whatever he sees fit and whatever his ruthless mind deems to be most politically expedient, IMO.
