Why does "Progressive" now refer exclusively to the far left? Just up until recent years it meant moderates as well.

"Progressive" should not just refer to the far left. How the heck did that happen? (Maybe with Bernies campaigns as he used it so much.)

In 2008 Hillary described herself as a "modern progressive". Before that "progressive" was basically brought in to replace the word "liberal" and also included "mainstream" or more "traditional" Democrats. Center-left Democrats were also "progressive". I think it turned, as noted, with Bernie's campaigns as they re-identified it to refer to Bernie and the far left.

It's too bad. I think the extreme majority of Democrats are "progressive" which means PROGRESS. It does not mean an extreme revolution. It does not mean the far end of the ideological spectrum. "Progress" means moving forward rather than going backward or being "REgressive" like the MAGAs.

And for that matter, the radical right wing WEIRD MAGATS are NOT "conservative". They are a radical WEIRD cult.
