Senator Warren's New Job
By Charles P. Pierce
at 3:04PM

Given the political system's tepid response to the unbridled brigandage perpetrated by the financial industries during the previous decades, when it merely bows to the staggering inevitable, the moment is worthy of at least two cheers. Elizabeth Warren knows more about how the banking industry really works than anyone in the Congress at the moment. By this, I mean the way the system really works — how it works to benefit the people at the top of the industry at the expense of the rest of us, how it is designed more to allow people to create new ways to cheat rather than new ways to generate jobs, how it enriches itself while destroying lives in places it doesn't even know exist. Moreover, this is something of an indication that Harry Reid, at least, gets the message that business as usual may be about to change, given the nature of his new majority.

Come the end of January, over by the Senate Banking Committee, they're gonna be able to sell tickets.

Ron Paul, we know Ron is a fraud.
But he was a similiar committee himself in the house for decades

and retired, with ZERO accomplishments and his big mouth, though intact.

As Robert Redford said in the movie "The Candidate(c) "now what?"

same as what if they did an audit of the fed, and the numbers matched up to what they indeed were prior?

It only takes one in a jury to stop anything
11 out 12 is great, but meaningless to the final verdict

so optimism abounds, but also some realism and caution is needed that it might not happen if there is even one person with power against the idea. Those piccyune obscure rules

keep her from being appointed to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, millions more to try and defeat her in her run for a Senate seat and more again to try and keep her off the Senate Banking Committee and they FAILED, their multi-millions down the drain. It is delicious schadenfreude.

the system they are terrified Ms. Warren will be working to change. The millions they spent went down the drain and I could not be happier.
