They "held" the House. They actually lost seats in the House. It is true they maintained their majority.
But, the reality is, they lost the presidential election almost by a landslide, at least electorally. They lost seats in the Senate as well as the House. It was not a "status quo" election. True, the people did not choose to throw them out on the street totally but they did put their suitcases on the curb...

(1,435 posts)is reason for house win. The Dems had a million more total votes for house seats than did Gop. They take two Dem districts and make
them one. Pretty soon they will take house next door and across the street from your district.
