The Definitive Body-Language Analysis of the Mitt Romney–Barack Obama Handshake

http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2012/11/The-Definitive-Body-Language-Analysis-of-the-Mitt-RomneyBarack-Obama-Handshake
<snip>
The aforementioned photograph of Romney and Obama gripping digits contains all the awkwardness this excruciating lunch first promised when Jay Carney announced the meal a few days ago. Let’s take a closer look.

Observe that Mitt Romney’s shoulders are totally dead. Whereas he looks stiff as. . . well, as stiff as Mitt Romney, President Obama is leaned slightly forward, his own hand extended into Romney’s personal space. If we had to guess, we would say that the president was the one who initiated the handshake. Someone who took the lead on a handshake would never hold his hand so close to his own body. Our theory: by the time Obama extended his hand to Romney, Romney did not have had time to extend his own arm outward, but just enough time and space to lift only his forearm up to meet Obama’s grip. Mitt Romney is definitely playing a submissive role here.

Note that Obama’s hand is in his pocket, while Romney’s is hanging limp by his side. The symbolism could not be starker: Obama has more to share and more to give, while Romney is literally professionally, emotionally, and spiritually empty-handed.

From birth, he was told he was special, destined for great things. He was put on a path for riches, as a stepping stone for the presidency. He was told, wait, not 08, but in four more years, you'll hear the cheers.

He believed it, every powerful leader in LDS reinforced it, and he had every expectation that he would win.

He still can't understand what really happened. It might take months, maybe a year.

I think I am entitled to a scotch soon. People who work hard are entitled to safe worksites, retirement and health care. every single person in our country is entitled to an education.

And I think that Romney and Ryan are entitled to take a flying leap.

Mitt Romney’s facial expression, while certainly in the Smile kingdom, belongs squarely in the Grimace phylum. Mimic Romney’s face with your own. Go ahead, seriously—make that face. How do you feel? Do you feel annoyed? Impatient? Filled with resentment? The corners of the mouth contain multitudes when not turned upright.

he and the rest of the 1% have done have driven our young into the military and, thus, have choked off untold human potentials, robbed billions of people of different kinds of futures, much of which could have been futures much more consistent with their own authentic "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" and, hence, more peace for the rest of us, than the scraps thrown from the tables of American Exceptionalists could ever be.

And the profound ugliness of that arrogance is that it is so blind to its own conceit that it is attractive to confused and dishonest others who either cannot or will not recognize it for what it is, until it's too late and, even then, most of the price will be paid by others.

I always have the inclination to feel sorry for losers, but SOME losers are like that "ring that the Hobbits found", feeling sorry for them is dangerous to your soul. I need to remember to never forget how manipulative people like Willard and Ann can be.

about seeing Romney in the Oval Office, a space he coveted more
than any mansion he will ever own, knowing it will never be his.

How he must have glanced around and felt the Universe, his God,
his destiny had failed to give him what he had been told from his
earliest memory was his for the taking.

Even Ann who had left him for another man when he was in France,
was convinced by him to marry him and she would be the queen of his
kingdom. The five little princes would all have been set to create the dynasty
that was their birthright. Ah, a single tear runs down my cheek.

Our President is no ones fool where as rMoney is a 'ho as is evidenced by his campaign to say whatever he thought he needed to say to please others as he had no ideas of his own. President Obama is his own Man where as mitt is, like I said, a prostitute for others

When you stand for nothing, you fall for anything. Why did he think he could lie, flip-flop, hide his taxes, insult the 99% and still win. That takes some sense of entitlement.
