(39,213 posts)... it will become even more obvious to all of us, what PJB did for the entire country.
We don't have saints in the USA, but if we did I would nominate him for sainthood when this is finally over.

(88,324 posts)Joe Biden is truly a faithful man. Faithful and faith-filled.
He's such a magnificent role model, like we haven't had as far back as I can remember. Always in service to OTHERS. NOT for himself or his own gain. The abuse this genuinely good man has taken from know-nothings from coast to coast - AND still willing and happy to serve the public, whether it's appreciated or not. And shrewd as all-get-out. With a sense of humor that took no prisoners, as Rudy Giuliani found out the hard way in 2007:
A noun, a verb, and 9/11 ...

Joe Biden gets the first real laugh in the press file with his sharp attack on Rudy Giuliani's suggestion that Democrats don't have the right executive experience to be president.
Giuliani is "probably the most underqualified man since George Bush to seek the presidency," he says. Rudy Giuliani - there's only three things he [needs] to make ... a sentence: a noun and a verb and 9/11.

(10 posts)In 2020, I figured that the Democrats would need at least 52 Senate seats to accomplish much legislatively because Democratic Senators from swing states arent likely to vote the party line consistently, and West Virginia (which Joe Manchin represents) isnt even a swing state. Most of my campaign contributions that year went to close Senate races. So when we got a 50/50 Senate, I figured that Joe Bidens legislative agenda was basically dead.
What I had overlooked was Bidens many years in Congress. He worked miracles getting stuff through Congress. Trump had talked for four years about passing an infrastructure bill; Biden did it. Bidens ability to get Congress to address climate change will benefit Americans for years to come.
Biden also brought a steady hand to foreign policy, strengthening NATO and letting other countries know that the United States would be a trustworthy partner. I dont know whether Biden will be the best President in my lifetime, but hes been the best so far.

(1,884 posts)Say enough good things about Joe Biden. He saved us from that very evil con man, liar and a cheat, with no moral center and a runaway megalomaniac psychopath.. If enough voters are insane enough to reelect him he will make Hitlers performance back in the day look like childs play
When Joe leaves office, everywhere he goes, there will be huge lines of people standing there just to be in his presence. What a wonderful man and we are all better for having him as our President .

Sometimes people have a dream. "I Have a Dream".
excerpt:
Joe Biden, amid hate and treats from howler monkeys opposed to him, and doubters in his own party, shattered the glass barrier and made what was a dream very real. There's no "more of the same" here. With the power and immediacy of a lightning bolt, it's the new reality versus a retreat to the world of robber barons and Jim Crow.

(3,135 posts)Biden's willingness to step aside in this election is one of the most noble acts of the modern political era and might be the most important single political decision of my lifetime . He's a classic example of a president who faces serious challenges, and rises to them perfectly. And he's been surprisingly effective at advancing the business of our country during a time where that is almost impossible due to complete Republican dysfunction. He's a highly effective and humble guy. If the media were worth anything, they'd be talking about that instead of his age.
Obama went to the mat to get some kind of healthcare overhaul done, and return the US to some kind of normalcy after the Bush years. He also did a lot to stop the financial crash from destroying our country, which seems largely forgotten now. WRT electoral politics he set the example for Democratic leaders post-2000 and defined a winning frame for our party. My main complaint with Obama was that he didn't seem willing to understand how bad the Republican party was getting. He treated them like they were operating in good faith even as Rush Limbaugh told his audience "I hope he [Obama] fails" during the first year of his presidency. And they made him pay for his charitable posture. But you could also argue that he had to try, so that he could prove that compromise wasn't an option.
In my view Obama is the most naturally gifted politician of my lifetime, and Biden has presided over an especially difficult time, and been especially effective. Both men put our country first in a way that the Rs only talk about. I'm glad to be a part of the party that elevated these men. No Republican since Eisenhower has held a candle to either of them.
