Says King is one of the fairest journos he knows, that he would have asked the exact same question right off the bat, and that Neut was wrong to go off on King. He went on to say that the Gingrich tactic of attacking the media for asking legitimate questions that Neut finds inconvenient is getting tiresome. Cavuto also says that his response to Gingrich after his explosion would have been, "Thank you Mr. Speaker, now would you answer the question?"

(31,464 posts)It assumes, as Sarah Palin did, that the press should be there as a PR vehicle for the candidate, instead of one asking tough questions. Newt (again, like Sarah), didn't have a legitimate answer to a tough question, so instead he blamed the evil media for asking tough questions. If you're a Republican and you don't want tough questions, you do an interview on Fox "News." Otherwise, you learn to deal with tough questions...after all, you're running for the office of United States President. Other tough questions are bound to come up. Whining about them isn't very Presidential.
