A suspect was arrested Wednesday in the death of a man who was pushed onto the tracks and photographed just before a train struck him.

Naeem Davis, 30, was taken into custody for questioning Tuesday after security video showed a man fitting the suspect's description working with street vendors near Rockefeller Center. Police said Davis made statements implicating himself in Ki-Suck Han's death ...

...is full of shit. I got angry reading his statement. He's trying to distinguish himself from the rest of the people on the platform and make it seem as though he immediately tried to help the guy by flashing his camera at the conductor(???). Of course, when that failed he went straight to the NY Post to sell this awful photo that he claimed was snapped by chance during his failed attempt at heroism. This guy sounds like a real piece of shit.

It's possible there may literally have been no time to do anything. The picture was taken from maybe fifteen yards away? I'm not trying to defend the guy, just pointing out an alternate explanation. If there were only, say, four seconds in which to act, you can raise a camera and flash the shutter in one second. You can't run to someone's aid who is fifteen yards away, though.

...hadn't ended up on the front page of a newspaper, and especially a rag like the NY Post, I might tend to agree with you and give this guy the benefit of the doubt. But I just don't buy his story. And that bit at the end of this article where he describes himself pushing away all the people who were crowding around the dying man was just a bit much. I really kinda don't like this guy.
