Thank you.
Now to the issue . . . . . .
An appeals court today ruled in favor of tobacco companies regarding the FDA'S attempt to mandate graphic warning labels on cigarette packaging. The FDA was openly saying they were trying to level the playing field with the tobacco companies in their attempt to warn the public about the dangers of smoking.
In so doing, it can be said that the FDA has moved from regulation to advocacy.
Is it okay for the government to advocate? Is it okay to advocate on issues such as this? Or texting while driving? Or drinking and driving? Or drugs?
Here is the story about today's court decision: http://www.journalnow.com/business/business_news/local/article_1e604698-3f07-11e2-81cc-001a4bcf6878.html

(1,944 posts)because we have too many dumbed down thinkers in America, who do not know the consequences of doing something.
And besides, big business should be reigned in from time to time - otherwise we would have such as the tobacco companies selling their products to tots.
