I just heard about this and am so sad. I saw a post in the lounge and posted about the wonderful experience I had playing with him and his sons when he was a guest artist with our symphony. He was a wonderful man as well as a wonderful musician and composer.

So sad.

I was never much of a jazz fan, but I did like Brubeck. R.I.P.

NPR had a great interview with him several years ago.
I think this may be it.

He was a very humble man. In 1951 he formed the Quartet, In 1954 he was on the cover of Time.

Hope this turns up:

And on Monday, (old interview, Dec. 2010) Turner Classic Movies will premiere In His Own Sweet Way, a documentary chronicling Brubeck's life and music produced by Clint Eastwood.
