(14,459 posts)And yes, I know people who do this and hear it on hate radio all the time.
Being a former catholic, it grates on my ears even more. Matthew told you to STFU and pray in a closet. I'd suggest getting on that ASAP.

(13,418 posts)Mine is my mother's sister (my aunt). She calls my mom twice a day and I've noticed a change in my mom....more Bible reading, more bible school, more bible study groups. I try to de-program her, but she's 85 and her memory isn't what it used to be. Nothing is the way it used to be.
It's just so easy for her to believe in Jesus and God....it's all so black and white. There is no need to think. But I still point out all the hypocrisies...I can't help it. And she sees those. And she does vote Democratic unlike the aunt, so that's good. Well, I filled her out absentee ballot....but she wanted to vote for Dems. Really.
I have given her the lecture on how religions are used by the wealthy and powerful to manipulate people and to cause wars. But she doesn't want to hear it. The Truth Hurts, in other words.
My aunt....after her visit up North this summer to help me after my mom went into the nursing home after a fall, I will never speak to her again. I will do everything I can to never see her or any of her family. If there is such a thing as 'those reptile people' they're it. They totally creep me out.
