Or maybe she's just too stupid to know that Walz taught high school for 20 years. They reek of desperation and flop sweat.
Trump spokesperson: Ex-teacher and soldier Tim Walz 'never held a real job in his life'
David Edwards
August 14, 2024
Trump campaign spokesperson Caroline Sunshine said Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz "never held a real job in his life" despite his years of teaching and serving in the National Guard.
During a Wednesday interview on Real America's Voice, host Terrence Bates complained to Sunshine that reporters were not questioning Walz "on his repeated lies about his military service and every single other thing that seems to come out of his mouth."
"Tim A. Walz, as I like to call him, because when Tim was asked to, you know, answer the call to service and deploy and fight for our country, he chose to step down and run for Congress," Sunshine replied. "He's never held a real job in his life, by the way. He spent all of his life running for Congress, running for office or in office."
Sunshine insisted Walz's retirement from the military after 24 years amounted to "being derelict in his duty."

These fucking MAGAt morons just don't get it and keep on doubling down on their doomed attempt to swift boat Gov. Walz's honorable military service and his service to our school children and our nation.

(5,685 posts)Wild that she thinks Walz retiring after 24 years in is "being derelict in his duty." My dad went on to teach electronics at the college level for a while, too, but I suppose that according to Ms. Sunshine, that's not a "real job," either.

(3,259 posts)Put her in front of a classroom of 30 kids for a week. Check to make sure she has appropriate lesson plans. Drop by to be certain she has classroom control. How about assigning and grading homework and meeting with parents? Oh. Miss Sunshine, theres a faculty meeting Thursday after your student-facing day ends. Youre to bring the snacks this month. And you have supervision duties at the Friday night dance. Dont consider it work. We went to university and grad school to teach because we just love it.
Asshole. In fact, many of us do love it and deserve respect, support and suitable pay. Again, asshole.

(14,548 posts)S.C. actually abolished compulsory education for one year in the 60s because of desegregation. They wanted to shift all of the funds to private Segregation Academies, a trend which continues today.
Also, with less education they think we can return to the divinely ordained system we had in the 1850s with an aristocratic upper class being supported by a huge lower class. Middle class folks just cause trouble at the ballot box unless you can trick them into voting against their own self-interest.

(4,193 posts)Military service and teaching are REAL JOBS.
Maybe they think that getting a paycheck from a government means it's not "real"?
Phewie on them.
They also refuse to understand the reality of military service. You don't just quit at any point. Separation can take months, and if you get assigned to something, especially deployment overseas, you could be forced into a new contract for two years. I have a relative facing this right now. He's got 12 years in, and if he doesn't put in his papers soon, he'll be contracted for another two years. So he's getting out while he can.
BTW, Walz was in the artillery, and as is common in the artillery, his hearing has been damaged. He might not have been deployable anyway, because of this service-related injury. JD Vance certainly knows this, even if Trump and his airhead spokesperson don't.
And the MSM go right on enabling Trump. The NBC news last night started with-- not "Trump and Vance are lying about Walz's service record" but "Walz faces criticism about his service record."
I don't know why they unerringly fall into Trump-enablement these days.

(22,943 posts)I worked many physically taxing, minimum wage jobs during college and after when no teaching jobs were available. There I was with my Masters, working in restaurant kitchens and even cutting onions in a research facility. They were all hard. But once I got a teaching job, I found out what real work was. This "lady" should try it sometime. I predict she's run screaming from the classroom within minutes.

(2,976 posts)Did Trump trade her in for the latest model? I recall yet another one* that we saw recently as well. I guess Trump's newest "Fembots" (Randi Rhodes' term) just don't have the shelf life they used to. Regardless, Trump obviously has a type: every one of his "spokesmodels" so far has been a blonde, without even a single exception.
