Who Says The Democrats And Republicans Can't Agree?

In practically a blackout of U.S. news media coverage, yesterday the U.S. Senate by a vote of 98 - 0 approved a military spending bill of $631 billion. $631 billion! And that is $4 billion less than what the U.S. House of Representatives wants to spend. Add in the additional military appropriations to come, perhaps hundreds of billions of dollars and you will have a sense for how we as a nation are evolving into a country determined to use our military to build and enforce an empire..

Democrats and Republicans came together with little discussion to approve the spending of this staggering amount of money. No discussion of the so called fiscal cliff, no discussion of what the U.S. taxpayer is receiving for this money, no discussion on reigning in expenses, much as is being done with "entitlements," such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, food stamps and other programs for the poor, and no discussion on the soaring U.S. government deficits.

And of course, there was no discussion of how the nation will pay for this $631 billion expenditure but surely we can slash "entitlements."

Where in the hell is the U.S. media coverage? This should have been headline news, with extensive followup coverage. Where are all the pundits? Where are the editorials of outrage? Where are the voices of the peace seekers? Have we lost our minds? Are we as blind as the many millions of Nazi supporters were when Germany built its empire on vast military spending, only to throw the world into the bloodbath of World War ll?

Most of we Americans just go on as if everything is normal, being manipulated by our government and the complicit news media telling us what is news. And it becomes clear by their lack of coverage, what isn't news. They will show us what is happening in Syria but not what is really happening here. Instead, they just alarm us over the so called fiscal cliff, a supposedly momentous event but one that is of their own creation.

Until we Americans find our humanity and unite to raise our voices, this is the caliber of government we are going to receive, one that will bankrupt us morally and financially.

Please see this shocking and disgusting news story for yourself http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-04/senate-passes-631-billion-u-s-defense-legislation.html
