Mark Sanford Mulls Second Act in South Carolina (with Demint resigning)

So could departing Sen. Jim DeMint be followed in a few years by…Sen. Mark Sanford?

Don’t rule it out. In an interview, the former South Carolina governor said he’d been by bombarded Thursday by calls and emails from former donors and allies encouraging him to consider a run in the 2014 election for Mr. DeMint’s seat. And, guess what? He’s not dismissing the idea.

“It’s not a ‘no,’ but it’s not a ‘yes,’ ” Mr. Sanford said.

to rot...and hoards of uneducated will probably welcome Mark Sanford as their Savior while they Spout..Religion, Family and States Rights. Meanwhile their kids are going to hell unless they get a Non-Union Job at Boeing (Charleston) or the Foreign Auto Manufacturing in Greenville and the outlying areas.

The rest of the "entitled and a few who make it through the "system" down there will become Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians.

The rest work under them as "low scale" workers who can be fired at will and the brightest and the best still leave the state...but that has become harder to do in the past 30 years.

I'm so glad I got out of there...even though the the Nature is still something to Behold...for now, at least. It won't last much longer. It's not even close to being what I grew up with in diversity. They took care of the bug, butterflies and other vibrant insect life and now they are working on the rest of it....

down in Nashville for the Vandy/Flordia game. Mrs. CincyDem and I were at a downtown ice cream place and he was there with his kids, one wearing a Florida windbreaker. He offered us their table and I looked at him and said "I recognize you don't I". He said "yeah...you might", with a sly little smile. I honestly thought he was with the Florida football program and he played right along. I wished them luck the next day even though he could see from my garb that I was there for Vandy. He said "thanks, we'll need it" and they moved on.

But something didn't feel right. Fast forward to 5:00am Saturday morning when the alarm clock in my head jolted my out of a deep sleep and said "F'ing Gov. Mark Sanford!!!". I felt like a dolt being nice to the guy but, in all honesty, with his 3 kids there, in that 30 seconds...he seemed like a decent guy.

Throughout the morning, I was thinking about sending him some kind of letter to let him know that he didn't get away with his letting me believe he was Florida football. Not that it matters to him but I just wanted to say something.

At the game that afternoon, could not have paid a million dollars for this one...I'm sitting on the A aisle up in row 43 watching the crowd come marching of the stairs at the beginning of the game. It's HIM!. So I got to tell him to his face, in a very nice tone "it took me a while but I finally realized that you've probably got some passport stamps from Argentina. You always go around letting people mistake you for anyone but a former governor?". He just did this kind of aw shucks shoulder shrug and said "yeah, well, it happens". And he kept climbing the steps.

I wasn't going to make a scene at the game or the ice cream place but it did kind of piss me off that he was such a smug a-hole about it.

I wish I could vote against him.
