when he "ran away" when the criticism rolled in.

I would have been more impressed if he stood his ground instead of folding in a microsecond.

"Domestic violence is part of it. Drugs and alcohol could be part of it," Costas said. "And I didn't say anything specifically about gun-control legislation or the Second Amendment. I don't want to repeal the Second Amendment. I think we should have responsible gun control, but that wouldn't prohibit somebody from carrying a gun."

That is a reasonable position.

to say it but completely disagree with what he said, this man shot her 9 times, he weighs 290 and is like 6'4...he would of got the job done since apparently he REALLY wanted her dead.

At Fri Dec 7, 2012, 05:17 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

I agree with his right
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=1943188

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

Maybe I'm missing the sarcasm here, but this seems OTT.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Dec 7, 2012, 05:23 PM, and the Jury voted 1-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: As much as I would love to corral the rapid response gun posse, I can't really find a reason to hide this post.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: There's no sarcasm, it's what happened. Wouldn't it have been easier to ask, if you didn't understand, instead of hitting the alert button and wasting six people's time?
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I understood the point to be that in the case of domestic violence, when one partner is clearly stronger, larger, and can overpower their partner, and wants to kill them, preventing them from having a gun won't prevent them from committing murder. That's probably true.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

But then it doesn't take a particle physicist to understand the inevitable consequences of flooding an aggressive population that includes significant numbers of mentally and emotionally unstable people with quick and easy killing devices.

Bob just had the courage to say it out loud in front of a big audience.

And no doubt he understands what's at the bottom of the "gun culture": 2A. But he also knows repeal is not in the cards at present (or probably in his lifetime) so there's no point in making life harder for himself over something that he knows ain't gonna happen. I don't blame him.

I enjoyed watching Billo try to use his brow-tactics on Costas...throwing idiotic gun fight scenarios at him and Bob ate him alive...with every reply...I had a smile on my face after the segment....that idiot looked and sounded so uncomfortable in his segue io the commercial... it was priceless...
