Fall out of the Fiscal Cliff is already starting.

My Husband and I have got into a program called HUD/VASH to help us have a place to live. It is a way to help homeless vets a home address so they can get work and back on there feet.

This program is good because most employers will not hire you without an address. Many will not even look at your application if they see a shelter address on it.

However we got a mailer from HUD today saying that if a vote is not taken by Jan 2, that will up the federal money to handle the increases that many apartment complexes are going to instate in the new year, they will have to stop helping many of the clients. It also warns about the same losses will happen if an agreement is reached to cut the benefits anyway.

So, if what we have read is correct, we go over the cliff, we will have even more people hurting. If the republicans get their way we will have more people hurting. When will this end?

As I have discovered, if you lose your home, you can loss your job.
As many of us know, you loss your job, you can loss your home.

The Big business area are so occupied with making more money, they don't want to spend money that will make jobs. So people that loss jobs, for whatever reason, will not have have any help due to the Republicans wanting to cut taxes, that cuts the help.

If the taxes are raised on the Big business group, they will circle the wagons and we will still be in trouble.

Those that are making real money needs to pay a fair share. But they don't see what the money is really doing, so they don't understand the need.

We at the bottom, that was not always at the bottom, can't understand why all the money that we paid in taxes to have help if the time came that we might need it, is not there. I paid in 25% in taxes when I was working. I know that others are paying in that and some pay more. Yet, and I blame the republicans, it is not there. Thanks to giving money to businesses, wasting it on wars that did not need to be, and cutting taxes to much, mainly in the wrong direction (businesses), we are hurting as a nation.

The American Dream is now a NIGHTMARE!

That's what's important to figure out the real truth. Is there any fine print written on it? To me, it sounds like a GOP tactic to scare the public (again). These days, it seems to be the thing to do -- scare the most vulnerable amoung us.

But this still hurts.
We have lost everything. This is our only chance to get back some sort of a regular life again. We did everything we were supposed to do. A stupid tornado took everything. Then the insurance agencies found some many loop holes to not help us, we paid so much for that safety-net. We have tried and tried.

Why are we getting hurt! Why are so many people that has done what we are supposed to do are getting hurt? I have meet people on the streets that should not be there. I was not the only college grad out there. My Husband was not the only Vet out there.

This is not right!!!

People should be getting fair wages. People should be able to get help if something goes wrong.

But People do not get fair wage. Because of that people need help, even when they are working. If you can't get a wage to live off of, how can you pay in taxes to have a public safety net. You are already using it and that makes it where it is not there later.
The protections for corporations are more important than protection for the citizens.

It is NOT RIGHT!

If they cannot come to an agreement, we should go over the cliff -- only then can we renegotiate the tax breaks given to the top 1% -- as well as for the middle class and poor. As of January 2, it's not like a shade will be pulled down immediately. The original poster will still have her address to use for employment purposes. It's not going to last a long time. People are going to want their tax breaks one way or another. It'll be worked out, but not until we take a drastic step to fix this. The GOP has hindered talks, put up a completely irrational counter-offer, and we must do something. This is our only resort without bending to the GOP's will of protecting the rich.

15. HUD-VASH is exempt from sequestration
Fri Dec 7, 2012, 06:07 PM
Dec 2012
Sequestration will result in an 8.2 percent across-the-board cut in January 2013 to nearly all non-defense, discretionary programs, including all programs within the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Discretionary spending (as opposed to mandatory spending like Medicaid) is determined each year through the congressional appropriations process. It includes virtually all targeted homelessness and affordable housing programs. The one significant exception is programs for veterans administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), all of which are exempt, including the joint HUD-VA Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program.

Of course folks are going to be devastated. That is what some were screaming during the last "hostage crisis" and if the foot doesn't go down then in a few months or a couple of years there will be more gored in the exchange.

He must make them vote for his plan. We Can not go over the cliff and we can NOT have their plans. Obama must hold his ground. And the reps must see that and pass Obama's plan.

Anything other than Obama's plan, the USA is ruined. The Rep. must see that!
