PSY is apologizing to Americans for participating in anti-US protests several years ago.
Park Jae-sang performs as PSY and issued a statement Friday after reports surfaced that he had participated in concerts protesting the U.S. military presence in South Korea during the early stages of the Iraq war. At a 2004 concert he raps about killing "Yankees" who have been torturing Iraqi captives and their families.
The 34-year-old "Gangnam Style" rapper says the protests were part of a "deeply emotional" reaction to the war and the killing of two Korean school girls. He says he "will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused by those words."
Earlier Friday, the White House confirmed President Barack Obama and his family will attend a Dec. 21 charity concert where PSY is scheduled to perform.

(89,252 posts)why would you apologize for the protest ? there was nothing wrong with it. it's understandable. even if some things might have been said that went to far the original reasons for the protest remains. in fact he specifically referred to Americans to did bad things, not all americans.

(3,682 posts)Stuff about killing American fathers, grandmothers, daughters, etc...emotions were understandably high and the protest itself might have had merit, but I read this as an apology for the over the top words. I think the apology is OK.

(32,027 posts)Yep, Kid Rock whose classy, wholesome songs include "Fuck That" and "You Never Met a Motherfucker Quite Like Me", and whose song "Cowboy" includes lyrics like "real women come equipped with scripts and fake breasts...watch lots of crotch". And yet that guy is allowed to perform his softer, country-pop songs at USO sponsored events (Wikipedia has a photo of him performing at a USO event!)
So until RepubliCONs start trashing Romney over being endorsed by Kid Rock their POUTRAGE over the "kill the fucking Yankees" rapper Psy is BULLCRAP.
Cenk Uygur had a great take on how Fox News was silent about Kid Rock's raunchy songs:
