(4,542 posts)Im quite sure they have ALEC style legislation already printed up and ready to go. Theyre going to move so fast your head will spin. This is the moment theyve been waiting sixty-five years or so for.
This is the end.

(9,050 posts)Why wouldnt they? They cannot enact their fascist agenda unless they kill the filibuster.

(9,459 posts)If, by chance, there is some policy they still can't get through with the rules in place by bypassing the filibuster (e.g., through reconciliation, simple majority appointments, etc.) that they really want to get passed, then they will eliminate it for that.

(53,085 posts)The fact is, the filibuster, as it is currently set up is a very one way weapon in their favor. They can appoint who they want to both the administration and the judiciary, they can cut taxes to their hearts content. and they can get rid of regulation all without triggering the filibuster. But when we are in power, we can't enact laws for our priorities without 60 votes.

(84,371 posts)It seems that most people recognize that it's a problem that has caused gridlock and dissatisfaction with the government. It should be gotten rid of ASAP.
