Caligula is most known for his cruelty and madness which he exhibited through the harsh taxes he levied on his citizens, the execution of senators whom he deemed untrustworthy, and other violent and excessive behaviors.

..I don't really have any in depth knowledge of the others.

I don't consider Nixon as an eligible name on the list. Unlike Trump's narcissistic personality disorder, Nixon suffered suffered some sort of paranoia issue. I never got the impression he was a threat to democracy.

Trump and Hitler are very similar in that Hitler was and Trump is, mentally unstable...

There's some parallels between Greece 1967 and today... A foreign nation also completely subverted the Greek elections where the liberals were projected to win in a landslide; but ironically that foreign nation was the United States...😐

Papadopoulos was also known for his angry incoherent ranting speeches, and like Donnie had a voice that sounded worse than nails on a chalkboard:

He was a doting father. He also snuck out of the White House to talk to protesters at the Mall to see what made them tick. Can you imagine TSF doing that?

DUH, of course I've heard of Commodus, and I'm sure I'm not alone. Don't sell the DU membership too short.

I'll bet the portrayal of him in the film "Gladiator" was close to the mark.

I'd still have to go with Caligula, however.

He’s more of a Commodus, if that.

A footnote in history. Soon to be washed away by the tides of the real greats Mother Nature and the march of time.

he copied a lot from Limbaugh. He learned that you can get quite popular with some of the American electorate by being extremely cruel.

Nero at least had some musical ability, or so I hear. George III had his good points (founded the British Museum and Library IIRC) and wasn't nearly as bad as Jefferson painted him in the Declaration of Independence - and by that time the British monarch was well on the way to being a ceremonial position. Henry VIII started out OK, but some historians claim he suffered traumatic brain injury while jousting, which changed his behavior. Nicolas II was a weak, easily led ruler who believed he was chosen by God, so there's that. Mussolini comes the closest from what I know.

Given Donnie's passion for monuments to himself, I'd add Trujillo of the Dominican Republic to the list.

Amin was actually smart, saw through colonialism, and had a sense of humor. Definitely not like the orange creature.

He reminds me of Caligula, no principles and a bit of Mussolini with those stupid ass facial expressions and pettiness.
