How are folks doing traveling the grief cycle?

I've thankfully been busy - new grandchild and lots of babysitting, super cold weather, my birthday, my wife's birthday.

But that now all ends - and it will be about garden planning and book writing, but I will have more time to let my brain leak into politics.

Like many of us I was immediately into shock and denial. EarlG and elad's new DU forum, The Way Forward, are helping me to touch into choice 6 - working through - and that is where I currently find myself.. I will not be able to achieve choice 7 for a long time - perhaps not until "he" is done with his carnage and we can look forward to a Dem president.

These are not straight lines, not step wise - we can bounce around forward and backward. But I can say that I zipped around choices 1, 2, 3 and 4.

This is a cycle I found that adds a few steps to the typical 5 step Kugler Ross. I think we need them.

Just curious how you are doing.

he didn't have to see this crap. I feel like I've lost my past, and any thought of a future. The perfect present is where I'm at.

Disgusted and channeling my anger toward the goal of relocating, I'm rather motivated right now. Packing is moving right along.

I have children and grandchildren, and am concerned about their well-being and futures. Some live in the US and others in Europe. But very little of current events has surprised me ...... except I did hope and expect VP Harris to win in November. And while I still have some questions about the election's outcome, I'm prepared to oppose the felon and his cult, and to promote Democratic Party values.

I was just talking with some old co-workers/ friends from the mental health clinic, and a few others from other county departments. Most of us are retired now. We were all active in the union, as we are in a very, very conservative county ..... the board of supervisors was a republican club. ( I remember the first day of contract negotiations when I was VP. A cranky old hardware store owner/ town supervisor looked at me and sneared, "You social workers are a dime a dozen." I knew that he and my father had argued since they were kids, for my father warned me I would never encounter such a skinflint as this dehydrated miser. So I looked him in his eyes and said, "That's just the good ones. It's the bad ones that are really expensive.&quot

Any how, if my friends were DUers, each of the selections in the OP would have at least one more vote!

Which I decided not to do - but yeah, I can be in that box with you. I may not leave it for 4 years. But I am working hard to separate it from living my life, with so much going on.

well into 2005. Mad, depressed, irritable, and worse.

I’m not letting that MFer trump do that to me. Although, he’s already ticking me off.

I didn't see that in the options.

His EO are much worse than 2017. I'm also worn out for working for eight years on this!
