Brain storm this. Maybe ALL of us should not file our income tax returns. Talk about resistance.

Some posters have declared that “hair on fire” concerns and worry is over the top.
Yet the dominos of destruction are falling hour by hour.

One of us will hit on an idea that will give voice to our resistance.

You’ve got mine.

I will be situated on the wrong side of the lines. My bad luck, but I'm old. Shit happens.

I over-withheld at my PT job, otherwise no tax would come out and I’d have the opposite problem.
This time of year is fun for us PR admins (recently retired). “How come no tax came out and I owe??” Because you filed Married 4 Dependents and don’t make that much, duh. My boss always said I shouldn’t give tax advice but I did sometimes.

11. Or have blue states get rid of the W9

and require blue state companies/LLC’s to use a new form where all taxes go to the blue state (or the confederation of blue states). Hell — blue states need to form a democratic government! Hire all the fired civil servants, LEO’s!

14. They don't give a shit if you don't file

if you are expecting a refund. If you know you owe, you could file for an extension until October, but you will owe penalties and interest on the amount owed.

Now, what you could do is change your W4 so that they are withholding the bare minimum right now. You'll effectively kick the tax can down the road to April 15, 2026, denying the federal government the interest free loan they normally get from you. As long as you pay your estimated taxes by April 15, 2026, they won't do shit.
