Yes, I hate Rashida Tlaib for misleading Arab voters. She has put them at risk. If they protest about Gaza, Arab voters risk shipped to Guantanamo. I have no doubt. I don't like Arab voters against Harris. They brought it on themselves. However, ethnic cleansing in Gaza is going to be real. On balance, I am willing to hear out and welcome back. I am assuming they will never go back to the Orange Turd or Jill Stein ever again. As far as Rashida is concerned, I give her no sympathy for misleading. Arab voters need someone more responsible than Rashida or Ihlan Omar. Omar is sometimes too racist for me. On our side, that Netanyahu hug by Biden was fatal. Now, Netanyahu is having Trump do his bidding. Wow!

(24,486 posts)And there were a lot of them. Where did those 6 million votes that Biden got but Harris never saw go? I've yet to hear a good explanation about that. Do we have Democrats who just cannot bring themselves to vote for a female Democratic candidate for president?
I also believe that Democrats were too complacent and over-confident in this past election.
Evidently in America, the love of democracy is broad but shallow.

(1,750 posts)Oh No. Not them. I am saying only those who realize they made a mistake and would never go back to the Orange Turd. By the way. I would prefer they permanently disown Rashida. She has a big hand in this.
Not everyone is pro-Hamas. Yes, if they are pro-Hamas, go away. Also, Arabs who return to us need to accept Hamas attacked Israel. I am not saying they accept Netanyahu. No. Netanyahu used Hamas attack to commit war crimes in Gaza. Just like Bush used 9/11 to destroy Iraq. Trump is attempting ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

(166,564 posts)Muslim voters should have never voted for TFG. TFG was always going to side with Bibi and never gave a darn about Gaza or Muslims. Now these voters are realizing their mistake
Trump-backing Muslim voters finally realize they 'made a big mistake': expert: James Zogby, the president of the Arab American Institute, told CNN's Brianna Keilar on Wednesday that many Muslim voters are regretting the decisions they made in the 2024 presidential election.

As Keilar noted while interviewing Zogby, Trump received a major boost from Muslim voters in 2024 due to anger against the Biden administration for its role in helping the Israeli government's war in Gaza that has killed more than 50,000 Palestinians and that Zogby described to CNN as a "genocide.".....
When asked by Keilar if he'd spoken with any of these voters since the election, he replied that he had and they were firmly against Trump's recently stated desire to ethnically cleanse Gaza by removing all Palestinians from their land.
"Many of [the voters] stayed home, and some of them voted for Donald Trump," he said. "But they are now feeling very clearly that they made a big mistake. And, you know, sort of like the kid who gets in trouble and his parents send him to his room and he goes out there and starts throwing stuff around... in a pique of anger. All he's got is a mess and that's what we've got here.
"People didn't vote for Kamala Harris. They voted for Donald Trump. They had their tantrum. And now look what we got. We got a crazy man in the White House who's doing and projecting things that are really, really problematic."

The Biden White House, for example, acknowledged this week that it is, as the Associated Press reported, weighing measures to help Palestinians living in the United States who want to bring family from the war-torn region.
Soon after, as Reuters reported, the presumptive GOP nominee shared his thoughts on the subject at a campaign rally.
Your towns and villages will now be accepting people from Gaza and various other places, Trump said, eliciting boos from the crowd. Under no circumstances shall we bring thousands of refugees. Last week, Trump described the pro-Palestinian protests as driven by tremendous hate while asserting that the violence at a 2017 white nationalist rally with some Trump supporters in Charlottesville, Virginia, when he was president was small by comparison.
Note, at one of his campaign events yesterday, Trump appeared to goad his followers in Wisconsin into booing Palestinian refugees.

At the same event, the former president also vowed to restore and expand the Muslim ban he imposed during his first term......
The former president also endorsed ongoing Israeli military operations, saying, We have to let Israel complete their war on terror. Its a horrible thing, but they have to do it. Trump added that Israel must clean out the cancer.
Lets also not forget a New York Times report from March that said top members of Trumps team want to expel Palestinians from Gaza.
Its as if the Republican is going out of his way to alienate voters who, given their frustrations with Bidens policy, might be inclined to give Trump a second look.
TFG will bring back the Muslim ban, give Bibi free reign to bomb and destroy Gaza and expel Palestinians from Gaza so that Jared can build his resorts.

For good measure, the Republican added that nobody is going to question U.S. ownership of Gaza because ... well, he never quite got around to explaining why.
Just as importantly, as experts in international law continue to explain that his plan is illegal, Trump was asked how the United States could legally claim Palestinian territory as its own. The president cited U.S. authority.

Its a colonizing perspective rooted in the idea that if the United States wants foreign territory, it should take the foreign territory because the United States wants it.
To reiterate a point from last week, if you voted for Trump because you expected foreign policy restraint, I have some awful news for you.

(59 posts)None of the Trump Voters I know regret a thing. If anything, they are doubling down. The OP post is really hard for me to follow, but no, I don't see any signs they are open to listening, talking, or changing their minds. Arab voters for Trump are getting exactly what he said they would get and they are smiling as the leopard eats their faces. You can't fix stupid.

(1,750 posts)I am sorry my OP was hard to follow but you got what I was trying to say. I know what you say and I am dismayed. However, I think there is a percentage of Muslim voters who see their folly. They might be a small number. However. I want to bring them back to our fold provided they acknowledge the mistake.
My OP was merely a chat to find a way to save our country. I am an older person and I fear that more Trump gets solid, the less of a chance we have to get back our democracy, even in a heavily damaged form, without major disturbance. We need everyone who can help.
I am very sad to see young people who are energized for their sports teams but not to save democracy. Where are the student uprisings? Only 50% of the people are MAGA. Rest of them are not but they are splintered.

So we need to rid ourselves of the notion that the midterms will solve everything because the way things are going I don't believe there will be midterms unless they are rigged ahead of time to approve of all that has been done in the US in the previous 2 years.
