Whether you are religious or not, why not forego all non-essential shopping for Lent? From now until Easter Sunday? At that point, you are permitted to purchase chocolate rabbits.
Makes a big statement and saves $$$.

and before nay-sayers chime in, it's a suggestion, people. I appreciate the suggestion, but I can't commit to it at this moment. Might need to order those shoes I have in my cart at Macy's first! (That's a joke).
