(37,378 posts)Here's a sneak preview in the early stages.
It's an appropriation project - Edvard Munch's The Scream.
.
Ultimately it will be a applique/quilted piece with trump replacing the two friends in the background as a big hulking black figure connected somehow to the headlines in the sky. Musk and prop kid are to the right in the sky. Unfortunately I put the text on that piece upside down, so that piece has been re-mod-podged. There are two more sky layers (off drying at the moment). With luck I'll get all of the paper backings washed off and it will be ready to sew by tomorrow.
If I get it done this weekend, I'll add a community participation aspect on Tuesday - either a paper or fabric frame with soothing words around the outside (like Rev. Budde's) and space for others to add their feelings in between. (It's due on Thursday - so I may, or may not, get that far).

Don't break the sewing machine! 👍
Good Luck, I look forward to seeing the finished piece! 👍 🎨 ✂️ 🧵 🪡

(37,378 posts)And the odd thing is that my Junior review for my major (photography) is next semester. I'm a bit of a crazy mixed up student (on top of being old enough to the parent or grandparent of most of my peers). I'm about halfway done with the 30 hours of photo work for the major (which I started first) and have barely made a dent in the 60-hours fine-art portion of the degree. The latter is sort of accidental - I asked what I would need to do to become a degree-seeking student - I was at the exploring stage. The next time I checked my status they had switched me. Surprise!
I was out with one of these just at sunset today:
Got quite a few questions from curious passers-by . . .
