From Toronto, 35 miles across lake Erie.
Talk radio, man and woman talking about the economics of not buying American goods, how to get most from money doing so.
Cut to commercial, an ad advocating buying Canadian, followed by travel ads for destinations other than the U.S..
Station CFRB, 1010 on the A M. disl.
Canadian a m. radio is a great source for non corporate uncensored news, 1010 is a news talk station.

(567 posts)Thanks for the Sirius number.
I changed my subscription and now have a hole to fill since I lost the one sports channel I listened to. I do like the Verge (I think its called), too, which is Canadas alt rock music channel on Sirius.

(18,583 posts)SiriusXM's Canada Talks channel (which I have on right now) and the CBC 1. It's hard to overstate how much Trump's actions have altered Canada's immediate future, even down to shifting the polls in their upcoming election. Two months ago anyone would have said the conservatives couldn't possibly lose, but that is a question mark now (no pun intended on Mark Carney).
EDIT: I apologize. I sort of rushed this post and it may not be very clear. For listeners of SiriusXM satellite radio, there are a number of Canadian channels. "Canada Talks" is exclusively Canadian talk radio (very high quality) and that is channel 167, and CBC Radio One is programming of greater variety but it includes a number of hard news and talk programs spaced throughout the day. CBC Radio One is channel 169.
And both of these channels are actually on the satellite (as opposed to app only) so you can receive them anywhere you get satellite reception (although both are available on the app/online too).
It's just great, great, very high quality broadcasting IMO. (Most of it is BBC quality).

(3,887 posts)US AM radio, which I stopped listening to in the 1980s when Rush took over. I'm on Sirius radio in my car and not sure who's on US AM radio these days but I doubt it much better.
We listen to Karen Hunter and Clay Cane on Urban View, and Michelangelo Signorile on Progress.

(160 posts)Always like Canadian radio when in upper Michigan or Canada. Way different viewpoints. Heard Neil Young interviewed and John Goodman on one visit. Unlikely to hear them in the USA

(116 posts)Their broadcast news is my goto, as well as getting my fill of hockey and nfl football and much funnier commercials. Also get Canadian FM stations and likely AM. Canadian news in general is relatively unbiased and recently getting a bit anti-US for some strange reason It's very refreshing
