My prediction: The parents will start a PAC in a few months: The Newton 40. The money will flow in

like Niagara, and we'll more than drown the NRA with anti-gun campaigns.

The NRA will wave the white flag in a year, allowing ALL legislators to discuss, enforce, and amend gun laws.

Just a prediction.

I think some restrictions are coming WITH the agreement of Republicans, with or w/o the NRA.

Mostly survivors speak out individually at the invitation of their congressperson, I would not be surprised to see that, but a PAC, that would not do the victims any justice at all. IMO

Many people not from CT have mispronounced the town's name, though it is an innocent mistake.

I have no idea what will happen. The parents have a lot of grieving to go through right now. Their family members and friends may push the NRA but I think the parents are too overwhelmed right now. We will see. The NRA will remain powerful as long the Repubs in the Senate and the House do their bidding and want their money.

Like I said, an innocent mistake. I am just picky because I have lived in CT for all 37 years of my life.

She was found about 2 miles from where we lived. Parents were appropriately terrified as he was not caught for a while.

My son was about 8 and their neighborhood social life was never the same. The kid-friendly, run back and forth, play soccer in the streets, parents leaving doors open so kids to come and go ended. TV and video games and parent-sponsored events only. Bikes to school were replaced by being driven. Playing in the park a couple of blocks away was even shut down for the younger ones, pretty much.

Mark Klaas, also a divorced father, founded if the not the first, the most public network of and for abducted children. That was how he dealt with his grief. And since the horror was at least 26 times more terrible, I'm hoping that some of these parents and Lanza's family can find their way to do the same. Maybe Joe Biden can help them coordinate it...and comfort them, as well. He's perfect for it.

And no one ever blamed the single mother for "allowing" the back door to be unlocked.

Because you can't bribe Congressmen with figs. But I'd gladly kick a few dollars into that cause.

I expect them to be treated like 9/11 families if they do this by the way.
