Great story on Springsteen's character

David Sancious is an award-winning keyboardist who preceded pianist Roy Bittan in the E Street Band. He played on what I consider to be Springsteen's best album, "The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle," the sophomore release for the New Jersey rocker.

Sancious tells of an afternoon on a south Jersey beach when a couple of locals decided they would pick on the young Black stranger. Springsteen was a skinny, young guy himself but didn't hesitate to step up.
