It's important to maintain plausible deniability. He will never admit he's cutting Social Security benefits.

....and I don't believe he's been directly quoted on this issue by anyone based on a conversation with the President behind closed doors.

Until somebody comes up with a direct quote from the President, I'm not going to slam him based on somebody else's speculation about what he may or may not have said.
