We Must Accept That Mitt Romney Won the Election with a Mandate

Mitt Romney won with a strong mandate. So we must be willing to compromise things like Social Security and understand that our ideas lost this November.

Besides, every poll shows that Medicare and Social Security are highly unpopular and that Americans support giving the rich more tax cuts while their benefits get cut.

If Obama had won, then maybe we could stand up and use our mandate to protect seniors in the fiscal cliff deal.

However this is just not reality. So we must accept that Social Security will be cut because this is what the country wants and asked for in November by Electing Mitt Romney as the President of the United States.

Oh well. Maybe we can gain seats in the 2014 election with the popularity we'll gain by fulfilling the public's demand to cut Social Security. Americans hate Social Security.

Don't forget that, in addition, the Republicans won enough seats to take control of the Senate. (nt) Jim Lane Dec 2012 #12

feeling like if he does his part in cutting social security, he'll be "one of the guys", i.e., Summer, Geithner, Clinton, Bush, etc.

But I don't know for sure.

If that's the case, he's betrayed us all.

If that's the case, I wouldn't blame it on his advice, but rather his character.
