Fine them $100,000 per illegal hire per day, with interest and fees retroactive to date of hire.

Some drooler claimed that the illegal workers might have lied to their exploiters, and he asked if I'd punish someone who unknowingly passed a counterfeit $100 bill.

Passed one? Probably not. Passed many dozens a day over a period of weeks or months or years? Fuck yeah!

So many vital services reliant on immigrant labor.

The only 2 trades I see that AREN'T immigrant labor are Plumbing and Electrical, because you need certification.

10. From the Omaha story
Wed Jun 11, 2025, 05:22 PM

Glenn Valley, which produces frozen beef, chicken and pork products, has about 140 workers at its Omaha plant, Hartmann said.

The warrant said 107 of those workers would be investigated, Hartmann said. Many of those employees were cleared, he said. “I just don’t know how many were not.”

Hartmann said immigration officials collected each of the plant employees’ I-9 forms in February and reviewed them. He said the company uses the federal system to check the identity and legal status of employees, known as E-Verify.

“We’ve done everything we’re supposed to do as a company,” Hartmann said.

Several plant workers, including Marisol Mejía, streamed out of the plant after agents had verified their legal status.

As long as they are shown a social security card, any social security card, they are covered. The numbers are fake, they know they are fake, but as long as SS is deducted from worker’s paychecks the owners are good. Of course the workers never see that money again.

I'm all for immigration, but when a restaurant or a hotel hires undocumented workers to shave costs, that's not right. Citizens could be working those construction jobs or bussing tables for a decent wage.

Levy a real fine on business owners and CEOs with prison time for repeat offenders

I understand migrant workers picking fruit and grapes etc, that's seasonal and there isn't a job pool within three hours of places like NAPA Valley. They come here, work three months while they send their money home, then when the harvest season is over they go back nd live off their savings (in a country where a dollar goes a long way).

Perhaps they could purchase stolen inventory or use slave labor. A company would get the underbid if they employed children or smuggled in untaxed raw materials. How does one compete against a company that hires undocumented workers?

That doesn't mean it's necessary to follow suit if the laws of commerce are upheld. And they should be. They result would be a better paycheck for everyone.

Repukes are always crying about immigrants. Yet another legislative session has come, and they refuse to mandate the use of E-Verify for businesses in Texas. The employers will never face consequences for hiring.
