The bigger the crowd, the more likely TSF will find a way to turn it to advantage.
Let empty streets at his birthday be the message on that day.
Instead, attend the June 14 (Saturday) No Kings protests.

(2,881 posts)It is a way to turn people against leadership because citizens hate it when the economy crashes.
I am thoroughly dissatisfied with this president and Congress. Why should I support the US economy?

(1,424 posts)I dont fear protest because everyone sees how badly people can be treated and people are getting involved thats important. Hispanic people cannot stage a successful boycott to stop deportation but they can show the world what is happening here. I see people showing righteous anger at people being snatched off the streets.

(519 posts)And throw a massive protest in a different part of the city. Just my thought. Im somewhat nearby in Philly and we are expecting a pretty massive turnout.
As previously stated, a spending boycott or a general strike would be the most effective means to push back.

(3,568 posts)Remember that they were hoping that "Antifa" was going to show up at J6. People were extremely wise to stay completely away from that mess.
In this climate they would create as set of charges on you that would tie you up for years and bankrupt you if you are lucky.

(11,884 posts)From fiftyfifty.one and others, there are NO protests scheduled within the boundaries of the District of Columbia. I've heard rumors of one on 16th Street in NW, but that's about it. Nothing near the closure area. There are protests around the area, but nothing within the boundaries. The only one listed within the borders of DC is actually in Nice, France - probably giving the French Embassy address.
So yeah. Nobody's going to be there.

(5,376 posts)A couple of groups have applied for permits:
https://www.axios.com/local/washington-dc/2025/06/10/counterprotests-june-14-military-parade
-Two other rallies an "Equity March" and "Refuse Fascism" protest hope to draw 500 people each to downtown, per an NPS application.
-A different group of organizers in D.C. cancelled a military parade protest that hoped to attract up to 20,000 people Saturday. They had originally planned to gather at Meridian Hill Park and walk to the National Mall.
That's a total of 3 (only 2 on or near the mall) with a "hoped for" total attendance of 1300. Groups have paid attention to the "No Kings" organizers to stay away from DC while protesting literally everywhere else. Note: the "Refuse Fascism" group's last protest in DC in may drew less than 100 people. Also, people should avoid that group - they have ties to the Revolutionary Communist Party.

(37,097 posts)One notable location, however, is missing from that list: Washington, D.C., where the military parade will take place.
Protest organizers have framed the move as a rejection of the spectacle, which will mark the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army as well as the 79th birthday of President Trump.
Instead of allowing this birthday parade to be the center of gravity, we will make action everywhere else the story of America that day: people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption, organizers wrote.
