I'm watching the local news channels in LA (CBS, NBC, KTLA-5) ABC has basketball...

the other KTLA-9 has a game show on called Flip Side, FOX11 has the weather report on right now. (Between the 6-7 hour)

As I was flipping channels there was coverage of the protests, but then they went on to other news.... weinstein trial, China trade, Beach Boys, weather...

Only CNN and MSNBC have nonstop coverage of los angeles.

My point is Los Angeles is not burning down. Cable news makes it seem like it is.

Just an observation.

That is true regardless of the bias/perspective/target audience of the network in question.

No matter how much some people around here love MSNBC, it isn't any different from the others in being a useless waste of time at best when it comes to developing a useful understanding of what is really happening in the world.

no matter how bad it gets, it doesn't matter. People will tune in knowing they're being lied to and repeat what they see as fact.
