A federal court hearing is scheduled for Thursday on whether the Trump administration can use the National Guard and Marines to assist with immigration raids in Los Angeles.

California Gov. Newsom has depicted the federal military intervention in the nation’s second largest city as the onset of a much broader effort by Trump to overturn political and cultural norms at the heart of the nation’s democracy. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has echoed that, saying the deployment of troops was unnecessary and meant to undermine local jurisdictions and intimidate the city’s large immigrant population.

Newsom filed an emergency motion requesting the court’s intervention after President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of roughly 4,000 National Guard members and 700 Marines to Los Angeles following protests over his stepped-up enforcement of immigration laws.

malaise post.

I would kindly suggest we make calls and/or letters to our Reps and Senators no matter what party to stop this assault on LA with the National Guard and Marines to be pulled out of that area now. We all know they are trying escalate the situation and this is all Stephen Miller sick idea of revenge. Or our states could be next.

Let's help our brothers and sisters in LA to stop this escalation. Thanks.

Addendum: Try to keep in focus the big, bad bill in the Senate we got to keep Medicaid. Include that in your call.

We should seriously consider taking California ( and the west coast plus Hawaii ) out of the US.

I know, such a thing is difficult... but we should at least explore the option.

We can no longer put up with MAGA USA.

Not a civil war, just a divorce ( more or less amicable ). We keep our federal dollars for ourselves, we make our own trade deals, have our own military, etc. It is obvious we can spend much less on a military that uses the lessons of asymmetric warfare from the Russia / Ukraine war to create a more effective and much less costly military. We can make deals with both Canada and Mexico to import raw materials and labor ( guest worker programs that pay migrant workers a living wage and have better conditions in return for our technology ). No more crazy and arbitrary tariffs. We can offer up trade deals with BRICS countries ( except Russia ). We can still trade with the "remaining 46" or not. We can restore science to its traditional place in society. We can be in control of our own environmental policies that make sense to us. We cannot stop climate change by ourselves, but we can, hopefully, prepare our states for the worst of it... and stop contributing to it.

US Senator from California tackled and handcuffed INSIDE a federal office building for just asking a question.

WTF are we waiting for... it is time to leave the USA and this dictator... taking us and our tax dollars with us.

This video has essentially been quashed. Now if it was a video of Biden, we would be seeing it on nonstop loops on every media outlet for weeks on end.

Still not convinced of the wisdom in expecting the same justice system to fix what it is directly responsible for. If garland / roberts had done their job djt would never have been able to do this.
