Pew Research Center did a follow-up on a 2020 report. Their new data is based on input from a representative sample of 9,482 adults in the U.S. surveyed in March 2025.
A couple of teasers.
1. Republican news consumers have a more compact (Oh. that's too cute!) media ecosystem...they rely to a large degree on a small number of outlets, and view many established brands as not trustworthy. Democrats, on the other hand, rely on a wider number of outlets.
2. Democrats trust more outlets than Republicans.
3. Surprise of the day: 20% of Republicans ...regularly consume news from CNN, similar to the share of Democrats who get news from Fox News (18%).
Well, dayam!
Republican's top news sources? Fox, at a whopping 57%. Followed by Joe Rogan, Newsmax, The Daily Wire.
Democrats top news sources, CNN (48%), NBC (47%), ABC CBS, MSNBC, AP and PBS (tied at 31%), NY Times (29%).
