We have visible smoke in our area. The doggo (were dog sitting for our DIL) got an extra long walk this morning because we were looking for the source. Came back home and started checking local FB groups. Apparently our local fire depts in DE have been very active since last night checking out suspicious smoke smells all over the county (over 50 calls reported through PulsePoint). They didnt find anything. Im thinking its probably smoke from the NJ forest fire but that just my guess.
Was wondering if it was reaching into MD. The air quality here in Newark Delaware is low. Thinking about the protesters.

(23,526 posts)I am down in the Eastern Shore and the only smoke I smell is residue from me burning some brush yesterday
We have 4 scheduled protests within a 40 miles radius and hope they are all busy, festive and loud!! They are scheduled so we can make at least 2 of them!

(64 posts)We had a call this morning from Cecil County, MD emergency services saying that there was heavy smoke drifting into Cecil County and New Castle County in Delaware from wildfires in Burlington County, NJ., and that people with breathing problems should stay indoors.

(12,059 posts)It was a sweet smokey smell when I had my little guy (Benny) out back for his final pee. Made me sneeze like crazy.
This morning, I read about wildfire in New Jersey, so I chalked it up to that.
Now? No smell at all although my husband said it was noticeable at 6 am (he took the larger doggie out).
Air Quality Alert, however, is in effect until midnight.
