None of this is about undocumented immigrants. We have proof of that.

If this was about undocumented immigrants the logical solution would be to enforce the rules prohibiting employing undocumented workers. One single processing plant owner. One single farmer.

If they went after the people employing the undocumented workers, gave THOSE people jail time and stiff fines, no one would be doing it.

Instead, they choose the infinitely harder task of going after the workers themselves. Instead of one person, they have to arrest dozens. Then they have to house the dozens, feed them, transport them, go through the cost of dozens more legal procedures, then incur the cost of the actual deportation. And none of that actually stops illegal immigration.

They do this when they could actually stop the employment of undocumented workers with a fraction of the effort and cost.

So we know this isn't about anger at the presence of people working illegally.

So what is left as a motive for this?

Fun. They do this because they find it fun. This is how they get their jollies. They get some kind of sick, sour joy in their shriveled little hearts from doing and seeing this cruelty that lets them think they are better than someone. There is no other explanation that makes sense of their senseless actions.

They think they will have a wonderful time rebuilding in their image. They have never understood the difference between destroying and building and governing. They take very different skills and the only skills they have are about destroying and dancing on the destruction.

The owners don't want to pay higher wages so they can keep the money for themselves (and donate a chunk of it to their fav repugs each election).

How rich do you have to be They have more money than could ever spend. Now they just want a larger gap, thinking that is their value as a human. It ain’t.

the workers present the employer with fake papers, and all the employer has to say, if charged, is that they are not knowledgeable enough the tell fake papers from real papers.

BTW I have no problem with people coming to this country and working and being good members of our society regardless of their legal status.

Control of the supposed "problem" begins and ends with white employers. No work for them here, many simply go back home. Fact is, we need them for economic reasons. We're not going to "white birth rate" ourselves out of these demographic trends. Nor should we. This whole issue is a failure of government to rationally organize the immigration we desperately need. Republicans will not allow that to happen because......

....this is all about performative cruelty driven by white supremacy masquerading as immigration control. It's all about putting brown people back under the thumb, where their very existence in this country is by the leave and whims of white people. And I mean ALL brown people. Not just the undocumented. Do you really think what happened to Senator Padilla would have ever happened to a white Democratic Senator? Not in a 1,000 years.

First, directing attention and anger at scapegoats who are "others" has long been a strategy for tyrants to gain power. In Hitler's Germany, Jews were targeted.

Second, they are White Nationalist racists with a penchant for cruelty. They are terrified at the prospect of Whites no longer being a privileged majority in this country.
