How do you think it is that the shooter is still at large?

Is he getting help? Is he in a house holding people hostage? I’m wondering if he’s out of the country.

And Minnesota gets quite rural a fairly short distance from those northern suburbs - he could be hiding in the woods somewhere. They'll catch him eventually.

He was surprised to see the police at the second murder crime scene as he was exiting.

So right now he is trying to figure out what he is going to do.

He could have called a friend to help who didn't even know what was going on.
(This according to a pundit on TV.)

Apparently the police shot at him, but I didn't hear whether or not he was hit. Could he just be hiding somewhere behind the second house? What's the landscape there?

7. The landscape is generally wooded - there are a lot of trees and shrubs in people's yards

(and there's been so much rain that the shrubbery is denser than usual). It wouldn't be hard to hide somewhere in those neighborhoods.

Failed apprehension at the scene and escape out the back door implies he had an escape route. Perhaps accomplices to whisk him away. "Persons of interest" were mentioned by police. He is not a loner, he owns or is a member of a security company, and a minister with a following presumably. I would bet he's far from the area they're searching, perhaps even out of the country. Authorities surely checking his social media and known personal contacts.
