2. Yes, it was National Airport and always will be

My Mom drove me to National Airport sometime back in the late 1940s to watch, through a chain-link fence around the airfield, President Truman, disembarking from his airplane. I doubt that you can imagine what National Airport looked like then.

I grew up in Alexandria and Falls Church. DCA will ALWAYS be Washington National Airport to me (or just “National” as we called it).
