Kenyatta elected as a DNC vice chair

Pennsylvania state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta was elected as a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Saturday, after the party revoked an earlier election that elevated David Hogg to one of the vice chairs.

Kenyatta, who was also elected in that first election, secured the position again after receiving 374.5 votes, or 99 percent of voting members in the re-vote. Hogg did not run this time around, and the party will select among three female candidates on Tuesday for a second vacant vice chair role.

“Malcolm Kenyatta has been a strong and effective leader as DNC Vice Chair. He has been committed to this work since day one, and I look forward to continuing this fight with him,” said DNC Chair Ken Martin.

DNC Vice Chair David Hogg announced Wednesday that he would not be running for reelection for his spot. His decision came after DNC members voted 294 to 99 to redo the vice chair election of Hogg and Kenyatta.

And I wish the "Not Us. Me." faction of progressives would fight the GOP and MAGA as fiercely as they fight good, strong, ACTUAL progressive Democrats.

And it apparently continued, as he whined that he was ousted by the dastardly DNC when, in fact, he chose not to run for the position again, likely because he knew that he had no chance of beating Kenyatta, who actually worked for the votes he received rather than piss everyone off by pulling all the stunts Hogg did recently and then threaten to primary them.

Hogg apparently had no answers. We dodged a bullet with that one. Kenyatta is so excellent!
