But he forgot the flag presentation and the poor bugger hardly got half his speech out, he wandered off and had to be brought back for God Bless the USA, and frankly seems as bored as I am.

Emphasis on both syllables. And the DAH was wrong.

It is pronounced more like de or da NANG.
Emphasis on the last syllable.

I am a military kid and spent four years in the Far East during the Viet Nam war.
The men were flying back and forth to Da Nang all the time.
So I heard it pronounced frequently.
