and reported back to us with their experiences, signs and pictures. I've been following it all day long here. Getting a first hand account from participants is so much more accurate and better than what's on TV.
I've been so disheartened, disillusioned and depressed about everything since the election, but I'm finally starting to feel a little bit of optimism and hope. Maybe all is not completely lost after all!

(33,965 posts)It was a huge gathering!!!!! and damn, our local news outlets are not showing how many of us there were. La Crosse, Wi it was huge. I loved being there, and found friends who love this country and hate what its going through now.

(3,497 posts)I'll be working a table at Pride Iowa City next week for an open and affirming church.
Trying to let our LGBTQ+ friends that people who are real Christians know that Jesus said "love them all. Welcome them all. All are welcome at the table."
Knowing the hateful anti-LGBTQ+ legislation going through Iowa and the feds, I could only do one of the two events.
Grateful for all the people who protested against Mango Mussolini and for democracy.
You all give me hope too... not on all days. But definitely today.
